m 2 ssd not showing up My new M2 NVME drive isn t showing up in BIOS or in Windows under Disk Management I ve tried to install the disk in the top and the middle slot on the motherboard without any success The new nvme is a Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1TB and I m currently using a Samsung 970 Evo 512 GB installed in the bottom slot on the motherboard Gigabyte Aorus Master Z390
And I d be sure that it is installed in the M 2 1 slot If it IS in that slot then try the other slot Do you have ANY other drives attached to the system I m assuming not since Windows is telling you there are no drives available but always worth asking when an M 2 drive isn t showing up What suggestions have you tried Hello I have purchased a WD Blue 500GB M 2 2280 SSD a while back Upon building my and running my PC I have noticed it hasn t appeared anywhere This wasn t a big deal back then so I didn t pay too much attention to it However I m now wanting to SSD to perform its job I have an AMD Ryzen 7

Turned out the motherboard only supported a SATA m2 and not an NVMe in the m2 slot so I bought an Asus Hyper m2 x 16 v2 PCIe adapter It is still not showing up nor in the BIOS or any other hard drive manager Note There is something called M 2 Genie in bios but can t find a way to activate it might be a solution Tried the following I can see the three Crucial drives in BIOS Disk Manager windows folder etc I can access them in Windows they operate as normal drives When I go to Storage Spaces and try to create one no drives show up Not any of the NVMe M 2 drives or even a separate Samsung 980 1TB ssd connected to a SATA port

Recently built a new rig and bought a 2TB kingston fury renegade M2 SSD It shows up in BIOS in device manager but not in Disk Management and not available in My PC on windows i have read many threads on this forum and tried changing BIOS settings reseating the M2 drive in another slot etc Nothing works Any ideas Specs i7 13700k Also my BIOS thinks my Seagate HDD is an M 2 drive due to where it is connected This is the only time the M 2 part of my BIOS even shows anything connected to it Things I have done Put the M 2 in slot 1 as stated in the manual to be the SATA port No show Removed all SATA connections to see if the M 2 would show up no dice
