32 x 3

32 x 3 Most tires will be marked with it Look for a number like this 32 630 the ISO equivalent of 27 x 1 1 4 As long as you the second number the bead seat diameter in millimeters is 630 the tire will fit on the rim The first number 32 in this case is the width of the tire also in millimeters That number can vary a bit without problem

Referring from the question specifically what is the closest modern wheel size for my old 32 630 27 x 1 wheels It s hard to find rims and tires for that size now a days I m looking for the closest size in terms of wheel diameter It should not go any bigger but close to exact size or smaller In short the 700x25C is a French nomenclature for tire size meaning tire diameter of 700mm and tire width 25mm and C is the width of the rim A is very narrow D is wide Thus the number between x and C is the tire width in mm For more information you can read a section on tire sizing on Sheldon Brown page

17 The correct length of a chain is irrelevant at purchase since they all come at a set length Usually 114 1 2 links sometimes 120 1 2 links In special cases like tandems and recumbents you may need to join 2 chains to have enough length Sizing a chain to length for a particular bike is a set process 12 You can theoretically mount any 700x something tire on any 700c ISO 622 rim However you need to make sure the frame and brakes if rim brakes are used can clear the tire without rubbing You generally want to match the rim width to the tire though too narrow or too wide of a tire on a rim can lead to tire rim damage or bad handling

I have peugeot 27 Inch wheeled bike The Original tube is Michelin Airstop 550x 32 35A confort 22x 1 3 8 32 37 490 37 501 not Schrader valves This is written on the tube exactly above in sequence Hence the metric figures For small changes such as from 26 x 1 95 to 26 x 2 125 or 700C x 23 to 700C x 25 you are almost certainly safe from a rim standpoint if the bicycle was factory equipped with 1 95 700x23 tires To be certain the model of rim should be referenced and the width noted

1 According to Sheldon Brown a 27 wheel has a 630mm bead seat diameter essentially the inner diameter of the matching tire while a 700c wheel has a 622mm bead seat diameter So the 700c tire is 8mm smaller in diameter about 1 4 inch This is in the iffy range I d say But you can certainly interchange 700c and 27 tubes if they re Note that my brother has a Sirrus X 5 0 and I have to say the bottom bracket situation is a bit strange it s a 68mm BSA shell but a Shimano MTB bottom bracket mounted without spacers MTB bottom brackets require a 73mm shell so additional spacers to work with a 68mm shell and a FSA crankset
